Massive folk outfit The Head and the Heart is playing at Robinson Center on Wednesday night (tickets are still available), but not before they stop by Control Records — Hillcrest’s favorite indie vinyl shop, at 2612 Kavanaugh Blvd. — for a free acoustic performance on the front porch at noon.
I haven’t listened to the band much since they dropped the ubiquitous hipster ballad “Rivers and Roads” in 2011, but this is a pretty cool move from a group of their size. Could be a nice way to spend your lunch hour.
