What’s cooking? Peppered ham, squash casserole, broccoli slaw, sliced tomatoes, home-made yeast rolls, “Elvis’ favorite pound cake” (pictured) smothered with Arkansas strawberries and some other odds and ends. Some day when I have time I’ll put this squash recipe on the Eat Arkansas blog. I’ve hardly ever served it to a first-timer who didn’t want the recipe and then subsequently used it often — squash, onion, cheddar cheese, flour, eggs, milk, butter, salt, pepper.
