After a team record start and some impressive offense to boot, the Arkansas Twisters moved to No. 2 in the Arena Football 2 league coaches’ poll this week after starting the season No. 12. Memphis is ranked No. 1.
The 2-0 start is the first time in six seasons that the Twisters opened 2-0, and the’ve done it scoring more than 60 points in both games.
Also, the team announced today the addition of kicker David Carlton, who formerly kicked for the University of Arkansas, and fullback-linebacker Reggie Cooley, who previously hs been with the team and has 19 and a half career sacks, with a single record record of 4.5. Cooley, who was injured and didn’t play in 2005 after being with the team from 2001 to 2004, also ranks second in most every rushing category. Carlton kicked for Tulsa’s AF2 last year.
They join the team as the Twisters head to play Bossier-Shreveport at the Bossier City CenturyTel Center on Saturday.
The Twisters are back home April 29 at Alltel Arena against Tennessee Valley (from Huntsville, Ala.).
