Central Arkansas brunch enthusiasts will get a chance to sample dishes from a variety of local restaurants at one central location for the annual BrunchFest on Saturday, June 22 from 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m. at The Hall (721 W. Ninth St.) in Little Rock.
BrunchFest was founded in 2019 and is hosted by The Centers’ Emerging Leaders young professionals group to benefit the Centers for Youth & Families. The event is co-chaired by Jessica Caple of FORVIS, a CPA and advisory firm, and Brittani Hill of Arkansas Children’s Hospital.
In addition to brunch dishes, attendees will have the opportunity to partake in mimosas, Bloody Marys and other brunch-themed beverages. Restaurants signed up at this point include @ The Corner, Hill Station, Community Bakery, Sauce(d), Kemuri, The Root Cafe, La Terraza, Graffiti’s, Star of India. According to the release, there are still a few spots available for participating restaurants and sponsors.
New this year are prizes that will be awarded to participating eateries. Food writer Kevin Shalin of The Mighty Rib blog will give out the award for best dish. Mac Hurtado, Arkansas area manager for Tito’s Handmade Vodka, will give out the award for best brunch cocktail.
Funds raised at BrunchFest will support summer activities and recreational supplies for close to 100 children living at The Centers, a nonprofit organization providing physical and mental healthcare services to children, youth and adults throughout the state.
