As part of the 6th annual ACANSA Arts Festival, you’ll get a chance to see how the proverbial sausage is made by several Arkansas artists during the city-wide Open Studios tour on Saturday, Sept. 14. From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., more than 30 artists will open their doors to the public, so if you’ve ever wanted to be a fly on the wall during the creative process, this is an opportunity to see the studio spaces and and ask questions of a wide range of Arkansas makers and cultural institutions. Eye-catching “Open Studios” yard signs will mark the participating studio spaces, galleries and schools throughout the city, and the work of 13 artists will be showcased at Cranford Co., the tour’s “Alternative Space” at 512 Main Street. Presented by the city’s Arts and Culture Commission, attendees will also be able to meet the participating artists at the Opening Night Party for the ACANSA Festival, hosted at the CALS Bobby Roberts Library in downtown Little Rock. The Opening Night Party will also showcase one piece of artwork by each of the Open Studios artists. A map of participating studios will be available later this month at lrartsculturecommission.com.
