AmyB checks in with tonight’s must-do musical romp:

Wow, it’s rare that you’ll get to see this INCREDIBLE New Orleans-based space age funk jammers, especially on a school night. There’s no question that the biggest, best show tonight will be at Juanita’s for an evening with Galactic. There will be no opening act, so it’ll be no filler/all thriller starting at 9 p.m. This will be a show that hip parents will tell their kids all about tomorrow morning. It’s $25 at the door.

You like free? For those of you that may not be able to afford (or get into) the Galactic show, there’s a rock show: a mix of punk, rock, mod with an out of town line-up including A Fir Ju Well, Dying Breed, Attractive and Popular and the Strangeboys. The latter two bands are sharing the bill with Captured! By Robots tomorrow in Hot Springs. Tonight’s show starts at 8 p.m. And yes, you’ll have money to rock and to buy more beer. We know where your heart is.

For something completely different and laid back: Cajun’s Wharf is open and Brian Nahlen (who commonly plays with Neil Kelly) is playing tonight. He does classic, soft and acoustic covers that are pleasing to the ear. He’ll start at 8 p.m. $5 helps him pay for the gas to get there.

Tra, la, la: For you non-barflies, there’s nice concert tonight at the Stella Boyle Smith Concert Hall. The UALR Gospel Choir will sing hymns and other transcendental songs starting at 7:30 p.m. Admission is Free.
