It’s been a big couple of years for tweemo legends Everyone Asked About You, one of Little Rock’s most abiding ‘90s bands.

After over two decades of relative dormancy (a 300-copy run of their only full-length album, “Let’s Be Enemies,” was quietly issued by 25 Diamonds in 2012), the group reunited in December 2022 for two shows at White Water Tavern. Then, after playing Numero Group’s 20th anniversary festival in February 2023, the beloved archival label remastered Everyone Asked About You’s entire discography for a double vinyl reissue that came out in September. An essay by label co-founder Ken Shipley accompanied the release, telling the story of the band’s too-brief run from 1996 to 2000.

Yesterday, Everyone Asked About You dropped “We’re All Losing It,” their first new song in 25 years, and it possesses much of the slightly clumsy magic that made them so special to begin with. The best part is the lush, bittersweet bridge: “Not being happy for a moment / Is not the same as misery / Give it time / Give it space / It will resolve or be replaced.” Listen below:

According to a now-expired Instagram story the band posted on Monday, the tune was “written during the eclipse” and then recorded at Jason Weinheimer’s Fellowship Hall Sound in Little Rock the same week. It was mixed by North Carolina producer Alex Farrar, who’s worked with current indie giants like Wednesday, Indigo De Souza and Snail Mail.

There’s no official word on whether or not “We’re All Losing It” will be a standalone single, but — as Stereogum astutely pointed out the cover art, which features the words “Never Leave” in an album title-like fashion, suggests that a larger release might be afoot.
