Smalls Sliders, the “industry-disrupting cheeseburger slider brand,” will bring the franchise to four Central Arkansas locations.

The Louisiana-based chain specializing in cheeseburger sliders and waffle fries is following a recent quick service trend (think 7 Brew Coffee) of using small, prefabricated modular buildings — in this case orange shipping containers with a covered patio —  to accommodate drive-thru and walk-up service. The company “drops cans” at new sites as opposed to breaking ground, which means “faster opens and fewer headaches” according to its website.

The four-can deal is with existing franchisee Chris McJunkins, who owns and operates Smalls Sliders in Louisiana, as well as Walk-On’s Sports Bistreaux outlets in Conway, Fayetteville, Rogers and Little Rock. According to the release, McJunkins plans to open several more Smalls Sliders cans throughout Little Rock, Conway, Benton and Hot Springs.

“Beyond just the delicious cheeseburger sliders, [Smalls Sliders] provides a fun and welcoming experience for guests — whether they’re just slidin’ thru or hanging out by the can at our outdoor patio,” McJunkins said.

The menu features combos ranging from one slider (toasted buttered bun with cheese, pickle and their signature secret “smauce”) with fries and a drink to up to four sliders with fries and a drink.

Smalls Sliders opened in 2019. A recent report from QSR Magazine says the company recently surpassed more than 240 cans open or under development and anticipates 30 of those to open this year.
