A split state Medical Board voted today to fold to the legislature on the practice of medicine by referring in abortion regulations to the legislatively preferred “unborn child” and “unborn human individual” rather than fetus.

These regulations cover laws that, in part, have already been ruled unconstitutional. These rules including mandate of a scientifically rejected protocol for administering the pills used to induce miscarriages in the first eight weeks of pregnancy. The preferred protocol has now been approved by the FDA, but it isn’t likely to sway the doctors in the Arkansas legislature.

The next logical step would be to grant estate property rights to zygotes.
