The start-up Little Rock Film Festival (May 17-19) released an impressive line-up today. It appears festival organizers (which includes filmmaking brothers Craig and Brent Renaud) went to pretty great lengths to put together a diverse festival–not just in subject matter, but also in terms of mixing narrative and documentary and shorts together and pairing big budget releases with smaller indies.

Friday night, fledgling local label Thick Syrup takes a giant step for Arkansas music with the release of its “Arkansas Compilation,” a 24-track collection of some of the state’s most vibrant acts.
